In 2014 The Royal Mint launched a new series with the Lunar Year of the Horse 2014 UK 1 Ounce Gold coin. The Shēngxiào Collection, inspired by centuries of tradition, begins with the first coin in the series created by artist Wuon-Gean Ho for the Lunar Year of the Horse.

Each legal tender Lunar coin contains one ounce of 999.9 fine gold (24 carat) and is individually packaged in a coin capsule. As with all our gold bullion coins, this coin is VAT free and Capital Gains Tax exempt.
